If you plan trip to the medieval village of San Gimignano, located in the Val d'Elsa area, a visit of the new museum San Gimignano 1300 is not to be missed.
Created by Michelangelo and Raffaello Rubino, the museum includes a real work of art in miniature style, that is to say a reconstruction in scale 1:00 of the village like it appeared in the 14th century. All hand made, the recontruction, was made of clay, involved 5 artists, and, after two years of work, opened to the public on March 2011. Besides it there are also some scenes of medieval life in the village and in the countryside, many of them inspired to historical documents and painting of the Middle Ages.
I suggest visiting to all kinds of visitors: children but also grown-ups who want to come back to their childhood!
