Pici all'aglione |
Pici are a tipical kind of pasta that you can taste in Tuscany, especially in Siena and its surroundings. In Montalcino they are called pinci.
They are similar to the more famous spaghetti, but longer and thicker. The best ones are hand-made and they seem less regular than the others. They can be flavoured with different kinds of pasta sauce, like cacio e pepe (milk sheep cheese and pepper), aglione (tomato sauce with garlic, sligtly spicy), hare sauce, wild boar sauce or only oil and parmigiano cheese.
Well, maybe Tuscany is not the best place where to start a diet, but, anyway who cares...you're on holiday!
Do you want to know where to taste the best pici in Siena?
